Maps and keys

First of all - HUGE well done to Orange Class who were so brave and shared in our first celebration assembly of the year. The children decided what they wanted to share and they did a fantastic job. It was also lovely to have the chance to see so many adults in class for a short while after, the class loved showing you all around! Next Friday's assembly will be followed by some time in class for families too, so please don't worry if you were unable to make it today!

This week the children enjoyed learning all about maps and keys. We explored the school grounds with our friends from Year Two and collected 'tokens' from different locations across the school. We added them to our 'journey sticks.' Back in class, we used our journey sticks to help us complete a map of the school. We used our tokens as symbols on the maps and learned how without a key, it is very tricky for other people to know what the symbols meant! Have a look at us hard at work!

Very, very well done Orange Class, you've had a fantastic first full week and have tried so hard. Have a wonderful weekend (:
